Carnoustie Probus Club returns to meetings

Carnoustie Probus Club has resumed its regular meeting, held in the British Legion Clubrooms.

At the first meeting the President introduced Omar Pacha, General Manager and Head Coach of Dundee Stars Ice Hockey Team, as the speaker.

A French Canadian with a passion for ice hockey since childhood, he played initially for a number of North American teams as a defenceman. He moved to Europe in 2012 then to the UK, playing for Hull Stingrays and Manchester Storm before taking up his current position in 2017.

In addition, he has a degree in Marketing and a Masters in Management Consulting and currently lectures at University of Dundee on Managing and Leading in Sports and is current chair of the Advisory Board of the School of Business.

The vote of thanks was given by Mike Rae.

At their meeting on September 15, the speaker was member Eric Armit, who spoke about his involvement in the world of boxing, not as a participant but as a reporter and an administrator. He writes a weekly article on fights which have taken place throughout the world and these articles are distributed to over 200 contacts worldwide.
