Essential maintenance works on the A90 west of Stracathro are set to get underway this week.

The project will involve teams removing the existing road safety barriers on the A90 central reserve and replacing them with an upgraded system, ensuring this section of the network remains at the highest of standards.

The works are expected to be complete by 5.30pm Friday, May 20, subject to weather conditions.

To ensure the safety of roadworkers and motorists, single lane closures will be in place on both the northbound and southbound carriageways. Due to the nature of the works, the lane closures are required to remain in place outwith working hours.

Commenting on the works, Ian Stewart, BEAR Scotland’s North East Representative said: “These maintenance works west of Stracathro have been designed to improve the general condition and safety of this section of the A90 for motorists.

We encourage road users to plan their journey in advance by checking the Traffic Scotland website for up to date traffic information and allow some extra time to reach their destination.”
