A three-week project to improve road surfacing on parts of the A92 got under way on Sunday.

Improvements will be carried out at West Grange Roundabout, the westbound sections between Ethiebeaton and West Grange Roundabout, approaching Panmurefield Roundabout and Panmurefield to Balgillo and the eastbound approach to Panmurefield Roundabout.

The project will see almost two kilometres of carriageway resurfaced and to help minimise disruption, all improvements will take place overnight between 7pm and 7am. No works will take place on Friday and Saturday nights.

The first three nights of work at West Grange Roundabout will require a road closure between 7pm to 7am. During the closures, diversions will be put in place and at some locations a 10mph convoy system will be in place during working hours. All traffic management will be removed outwith working hours.

A BEAR Scotland spokesperson said: “This resurfacing programme is essential to ensure the continued safe use of these areas on the A92. The improvements are part of our long term A92 road maintenance programme and will help to ensure that the route remains fit for purpose for years to come.”
