Venue manager Scott McRuvie said: “After running a digital version of the show in 2020 due to Covid restrictions, we cannot wait to welcome our audiences back for Rock The Halls. This year’s show is set to be a Christmas cracker and will have you all feeling festive and ready for the big day!”

The show, staged at the Whitehall Theatre every year, features a 12 piece live band, incredible singers ably assisted by a children’s chorus – made up of members of local youth theatre groups - who belt out everyone’s favourite Christmas hits. Featuring on the show will be songs such as All I want for Christmas, Do They Know it’s Christmas, Merry Christmas Everyone and I Wish it Could be Christmas Everyday.

The show, originally created by local musician, Richard Waghorn, was intended to be a one-off, one-night fundraiser. The show was a smash hit with local theatregoers and now, due to public demand the production is now a two-night run every December.

The show is still a fundraiser for the theatre and over the years it has raised enough cash to allow for significant improvements to the venue. The money has allowed for the full renovation of the balcony seating and a complete transformation of the front of house area.
