The organisers of Arbroath’s very own maritime celebration, Sea Fest, are hoping townsfolk will get involved this year.
The family-orientated Arbroath event is organised by a committee of volunteers and last year attracted over 25,000 people.
With so many visitors managing group Red Pepper Events needs plenty of volunteer marshals to keep things running smoothly.
Eleanor Whitby of Red Pepper Events said: “If you’d like to help keep the thousands of people who come to Sea Fest safe and happy by providing directions and generally being helpful, just get in touch with me.”
Musicians of all kinds are also needed, as well as one very special act. Eleanor said: “This year, Sea Fest will have a seaside theme and we’d love to have a Punch and Judy Show, but we can’t find one anywhere. Any performers who are available should contact me as soon as possible!”
This year the event will take place on August 3 and 4 and would make a good stage for any groups willing to take a stall for £125 for the weekend.
Eleanor explained: “Having a stall at Sea Fest is a wonderful way to let people know more about a community organisation or charity and, if required, raise funds.
“Also, small businesses and craftspeople often tell us that having a stall at Sea Fest is a great way of reaching new customers.”
Alternatively there are a number of pitches available for hire. Eleanor added: “One of our regular pitch holders, Crown Park, will once again have mobile homes on view, which is always a crowd puller and which they find very worthwhile. In addition, visitors to this year’s Arbroath Sea Fest will be able to pick up a free programme, with advertising opportunities in this programme available from £100.”
