eagle-eyed townsfolk might just spot a touch of Christmas guerilla art in Arbroath today (Friday).
A group of local artists have banded together to promote their latest exhibition in a novel fashion by crafting around 150 decorative snowflakes and attaching them to the Arbroath Library railings in the dead of night.
The snowflakes contain an invitation to the Tentalicious outdoor art event in the west end of the town on December 8.
Organiser Jill Henderson said: “As with all good Christmas traditions, Arbroath residents will be the recipients of little secret Christmas surprises left in the night.”
The one-day event will feature work from Doodlestuff, Kerfuffle, Heartfelt and Whimsical Lush who will present a selection of unique art and design work on show and for sale.
The range of crafts on offer is vast, with everything from bespoke jewellery and treasure troves to T-shirts, limited edition prints and hand-stitched fairy dolls.
According to Jill there will also be live entertainment. She said: “Live Christmas tunes are being arranged for the day and mulled wine and mince pies will be available too, so it’s going to be a lot of fun.
“We can’t guarantee real snow but there is a lovely snowball pom-pom theme running through the event to get visitors in the mood for Christmas!
“So pick up your very own snowball pom-pom from outside Arbroath library and join us for a Christmas shopping experience unlike any other.”
The invitations can be collected from outside Arbroath Library from this morning (Friday) and the pop up gallery will be open between 10 a.m. and 10 p.m. on December 8 at 61 Dishlandtown Street. For more information find Tentalicious on Facebook.
