Tough day at the office

AFC PLOUGH and FC Porty were the only two local Forfar League sides to advance in the Tayside Sunday Amateur Cup on Sunday.

FC Porty and FC Westy both requested free weeks; Cliffburn Hotel no game.


ADAC results

ARBROATH and District Athletics Club was well represented at the first event within the Castle’s Cross-Country series which took place at Knockburn, Banchory.

Under-11 athlete Juliette Simpson and under-17 competitor Ellen Robertson will be sitting in medal positions when they compete in the second event.

ADAC results were as follows:

Under-11, girls, one mile – 3, Juliette Simpson, 9.14; 6, Megan Gowans, 9.21; 19, Jade Reid, 10.40; 21, Amy Low, 10.59; 25, Carla Townsend, 11.35.

Under-13, girls, two miles – 14, Megan McColl, 11.47; 17, Shauna Chisholm, 12.31.

Under-15, girls, two miles – 5, Nicola Fairlie, 10.38; 6, Anna Robertson, 10.47; 13, Aillie Townsend, 12.27: boys, three miles – 10, Connor Sturrock, 21.03.

Under-17, women, three miles – 2, Ellen Robertson, 23.32: men, three miles – 5, Hamish Sutherland, 18.46; 7, Ross Croall, 19.43.

Senior men, three miles – 8, Martin Shepherd, 27.18: six miles – 8, Lewis Morrison, 40.08; 14, Matthew Chisholm, 53.03.

The club’s annual trophy disco will take place tonight (Friday) at Seaton House. There will be no training tomorrow (Saturday).
