It was not an easy job for assistant manager and friend of Allan Moore to step up and take the reigns after his inpromptu departure but with Moore’s blessing Todd Lumsden is doing his best to get Arbroath promoted.
He said: “In terms of the objective of the season it is still to try and win promotion. Allan’s message was to try and keep the boys upbeat and see it through to the end. It was not an easy conversation.”
And Lumsden thinks the mid-week play-off fixture is no bad thing. He said: “It is important we focus on recovery after Saturday but playing on a Wednesday puts a different slant on it. Fans will hopefully attend in numbers and we can have a great crowd to play to.
“The fans have been brilliant all the way through the season. They supported us when we went through the difficult patch and they will give us that push to get over the final finish line.”
