Sponsored Walk Raises Around £1,000
On Sunday, the Club held its sponsored walk to East Haven and back in aid of the all weather court fund.
There was a healthy turnout of members and friends and, thankfully, the weather was good on the day.
The walk took around one hour and fifteen minutes each way – with a half hour picnic stop in the middle.
Everyone made it and there were some weary limbs but no major injuries to report. All of the money is yet to be collected but it is expected to have raised in excess of £1000. The Club would like to thank everyone who took part.
Bank of Scotland Community Fund Award
The club have been shortlisted for a Bank of Scotland Community Fund Award – along with three other local organisations. This means that they could be awarded anywhere between £500 and £3000 – depending on the number of votes they receive. They ask that as many people as possible vote for them by the following means:-
Online: Visit www.bankofscotland.co.uk/communityfund search for Arbroath Lawn Tennis Club and then follow the voting instructions
By Text: Text VOTE GNK to 82332. This will be charged at standard rate so costs should be minimal (One text per mobile phone please)
By Twitter: Please tweet #COMMFUND GNK somewhere in your message and then have your followers retweet. Each retweet will then be counted as a vote. (There must be a space between #COMMFUND and GNK)
In Branch: You can also vote in either of Carnoustie, Broughty Ferry or Dundee Fairmuir branches of Bank of Scotland (Unfortunately the Arbroath branch is no included in the voting). Please just ask a member of staff in branch who will explain what you need to do.
The more votes the Club receives the more chance they have of receiving a higher award.
