Will Porter (17), won The Scottish Boys Championship at Dunbar on Saturday. Having played in unlike Scottish conditions during the week, Porter had to endure rain, hail, sleet and gale force winds to beat Ross Callan from Bathgate 4& 3 in the final.

This is the first win for The Carnoustie Club since Steven Brown’s win in 2001 at Royal Aberdeen. Having won the Junior Tour under-18 event last week at Longniddry, Will is proving a happy hunting ground for Porter. He is the in-form junior player at the moment.

He relaxed on Monday by doing a medal at Carnoustie Championship course followed by playing the Monifieth Championship Course to secure his place in the Angus County Team and travelled to Birmingham to participate in the Peter McEvoy trophy at Copt Heath Golf Club before returning to school.

He is coached by Kevin Hale and local PGA champion Fraser Mann.
