Title contests hotting up in ladies’ darts league

FISHERMANS’ lead at the top of Arbroath Ladies’ Darts League’s Division One was cut to three points when they were defeated by Bowlers.

Pageant 2 moved closer to the leaders with a win over Cricket Club.

Ram’s Heid 1 continue to have a healthy advantage in Division Two, despite being held to a 6-6 draw by Pageant 1, while in Division Three Newgate and Railway are locked together at the top after the former drew with Foundry allowing Railway to join them at the top.

Meeting

A captains’ meeting followed by a full committee meeting is to be held in the Portcullis on Tuesday, March 15, at 8 p.m.

All football card money to be handed in at this meeting.

Cup finals

The Knock-out Cup final between Bowlers and Portcullis 2 will be held in the Burns Bar.

The Consolation Cup final between Station and St Tams 2 is to be played in the Pageant.

Both these ties take place on Thursday, March 17.

Also on this date the postponed Third Division fixture between Railway and Foundry will be played.

Consolation sponsorship

Any publican willing to sponsor this season’s Consolation semi-finals and final should submit a bid in writing to league secretary Alan Soutar by Monday, March 28.

Dates for the matches are: Monday, April 4; Wednesday, April 13, and Monday, May 2.

Riley’s UK Doubles

The Angus qualifier for the Riley’s UK Doubles will take place on Saturday, March 26, at the Red Lion Holiday Park, Arbroath. Players should register at 11 a.m. Toe the oche 11.30 a.m.

Entry to the event is closed.

Angus Darts Association

The annual general meeting of the Angus Darts Association will take place on Saturday, April 16, at 11 a.m. in the function suite at the Red Lion Holiday Park, Arbroath

Any letters or proposals should be handed in to Angus secretary Alan Soutar 14 days prior to the meeting.

Scottish Singles 2011

The Angus qualifier for the Scottish Singles will be played on Saturday, April 16.

All names should be given to Angus chairperson Alan Soutar by Friday, April 1. The entry fee is £6 for men and women. The more entries submitted from Angus, the more men and women the area will get through to the finals.

The Scottish finals are on Saturday, May 7.
