The deadline for Arbroath entry fees for this year’s Scottish Pool Association (SPA) Scottish singles and doubles events is Saturday, July 2, so they can be entered at the SPA meeting on Sunday, July 3.
The finals of the doubles will be played at the Chieftain Hotel, Inverness, over Saturday/Sunday, October 8/9. The finals of the singles will be played at the Murray Owen Centre, East Kilbride, on Saturday/ Sunday, November 5/6.
As with previous years a local qualifier (drawn by the SPA) takes place in Arbroath for each event and again players will be able to organise their own matches at neutral venues within agreed deadlines. The winners go on to the finals on the above dates.
Names need to be put forward now for a competition not being played until the new season begins. However, once entries close, names cannot be added.
Last year, Arbroath and District Pool League had 35 players entered for the singles (five qualifiers) and 12 pairs (eight qualifiers) for the doubles. As always, the more entries that are submitted the more qualifiers the league will get.
Entry forms and flyers are available in local pubs.
