THE SECOND half of Arbroath and district Ladies’ Darts League season begins on Thursday, January 12.

Division One

Fixtures: Bowlers v Pageant (1); Fisherman’s v Portcullis (1); Cricket Club v Cliffburn (1); British Legion v Millgate (1); Portcullis (2) v Ram’s Heid (1); free week, Pageant (2).

Division Two

Fixtures: Letham v Burns (1); Millgate (2) v Letham Hotel; St Tam’s v LBC; Railway v Tutties; Burns (2) v Lorne.

Division Three

Fixtures: Ram’s Heid (2) v Abbey (1); Cliffburn (2) v Commercial; Station v Foundry; Stag v Ship; Abbey (2) v West Port Bar.

Division Three captains please note Ship will play home games in St Tam’s during the second half of the season.

Committee meeting

There will be a full committee meeting on Wednesday at 7 p.m. in the Abbey Lounge.

Scottish Mixed Pairs

The Angus Qualifier for the Scottish Mixed Pairs competition will take place tomorrow (Saturday) at The Red Lion Holiday Park, Arbroath. Entry is free and players should register from 11 to 11.30 a.m. for a 12 noon start.

Angus will get four pairs through to the Scottish Finals at Bannockburn on Saturday, January 21. If you don’t have a partner, why not come down and see if you can be paired up on the day.

Angus Youth Darts

The First Angus Youth competition will be played in the Function Suite at the Red Lion Holiday Park, Arbroath, tomorrow (Saturday). Registration is at 11 a.m. and the competition will begin at 12 noon. There is no dress code for this event; players can wear what they want.

This event is open to boys and girls aged between 14 and 21 years from the Angus area.

Entry is free and there will be awards for the winner and runner-up. This is planned as an introduction to competition darts with the emphasis on good sportspersonship and having fun.

Alan Soutar, Angus Darts chairperson stated: “Standard of play should not be a barrier to any young player as we are looking at encouraging young players into the sport of darts.”
