180 Competition

(Air Memorial Trophy)

The 180 competition takes place on Monday in the Cliffburn Hotel, Function Suite. Players should register by 7 p.m. Toe the oche will be 7.30 p.m.

Only players who have scored a 180 in a league or cup match are eligible to enter. A total of 98 players have qualified for the competition.

Finals and Presentation Night

The season end finale will take place on Saturday, June 2, in the Cliffburn Hotel, Function Suite. All players should register by 6.30 p.m. Toe the oche will be 7 p.m.

The draw for all events on Finals Night has been carried out and is available to view online at www.arbroathdarts.co.uk

All trophy winners should attend the awards ceremony that will follow the darts action on the night.

Angus Men’s Super League

Arbroath B are at home to Forfar whilst Arbroath A are away to Brechin. All Arbroath A team players should meet at the Fishermans before 7 p.m. Bus leaves for Brechin at 7 p.m. sharp.

Angus Darts Academy

Fourteen members of the Darts Academy travelled to Stirling on Saturday to play in the Scottish Under-18s Singles Competition. The boys did the Academy proud with their attitude and play.

Jamie Roy (16), from Arbroath, was beaten in the semi-finals from Scottish Youth International player Brendyn Donnelly from Fife who went on to win the event.

Kyale Ross (13) from Arbroath showed great spirit, beating players three to four years older than himself and progressed to the quarter-finals.

Darts Academy Competition

Sunday saw the second Academy Competition played in the Cafe Project with 40 youngsters attending.

Results were: Under 13s – winner, Alex Gibson; runner-up, Leon Gibson. Under-15s – winner, Ross Findlay; runner-up, Kyale Ross. Over-15s – winner, Jamie Roy; runner-up, Ross Collier.

All the players were on a high from meeting Barney (Raymond van Barneveld) on the Friday night and this showed with the excellent darts that were thrown. Three 180s were scored by Jamie Roy, Ross Collier and Joe Gibson. 116 was checked out by Kyale Ross and Alex Gibson nailed a 12 dart leg of 301.
