ARBROATH Indoor Bowling Club’s gents’ team faced Gairoch in their latest Scottish League match.
As has happened before, Arbroath were nine shots in arrears after the first end, but they fought back strongly and after three ends the scores were level at 15 shots each.
At the end of the first quarter, Gairoch had nudged ahead to lead by three shots but in a see-saw match Arbroath led by a single shot at the halfway stage.
The outcome remained very much in question and at the three-quarter point Arbroath were ahead by four shots.
In the final quarter, with both teams going all out for the win, Arbroath added to their advantage and won by 10 shots.
