Congratulations were extended to the eight teams which have made it through to this year’s finals day on Sunday, May 22, when the event will be played down to a winner.
Letham Hotel (2) have been awarded a 12-0 walkover as Abbey (2) did not show for this rearranged fixture. This issue will be discussed further at the next committee meeting and a sanction will be imposed on Abbey.

SPA IM #1
Results and fixtures in the SPA Individual Membership competition are as follows.
Second round: Paddy Nicoll lost to Steve Webster, 6-5.
Final qualifying results: Graham Dunbar beat Jonathon Cargill, 6-2; and Greg Alexander beat Kenny McMillan, 6-0. Fixtures: Steve Hamilton v Steve Webster and Colin Brown v George Fairweather.
Graham and Greg have qualified for the finals of IM #1 which is to be played at Hustlers, Rosyth, over the weekend of April 16/17.
Tomorrow (Saturday) is the date of the first annual Perth Open. The organisers are looking to attract league players from Arbroath, Dundee, Forfar etc. to make this into a regional event.
Arbroath will be taking about 12 to 15 players to the competition. Transport is either private car or train as arranged by the players.
Entry fee is only £5 (pay on the day) and format is blackball rules, races to three and up (depending on numbers). Winners will receive a trophy and £150 added to the prize fund and all entries will be paid out

Due to some technical problems with the old website, the SPA have given the Arbroath League a revised one. Unfortunately, it means that all members from the old site will have to re-register. However, it is only a two-minute job! The new site is www.arbroath.scottishpool.com instead of .net.
