Zeus has a lot to answer for in the CSL Eastern Premiership as a rain dampened pitches put a halt to their final match against Stoneywood-Dyce.
The 2013 national champions needed Falkland to beat Aberdeenshire to keep their title. However, all hopes were lost when umpires called off the crucial fixture at Mannofield due to an unsafe area of turf, 15 yeards from the wicket.
Club president Geoff Fisher told David Kelso at The Scotsman: “We have had long and deep discussions about the issue and we are convinced this appalling decision by the umpires should be explained by the ruling body.
“We have asked league administrator Ramsay Allan for clarification, particularly with reference to the Aberdeenshire match being formally called off at 2 p.m., when the rules allowed the ground staff to work on the damp area until 4pm.”
