Arbroath Ladies’ Darts League

AFTER the final matches in the Arbroath Ladies’ Dart League programme, Pageant (2) are Division One champions with a tally of 33 points, two more than runners-up, Bowlers. Cricket Club are in third place with 26.

In Division Two, a tie for top spot between Railway and Lorne led to a play-off which was convincingly won by Railway, earning them the title. Burns (1) was placed third.

Ship were convincing Division Three champions, with a lead of four points over runners-up, Ram’s Heid (2). West Port Bar and Commercial tied for third place with 22 points.

First Darts Academy competition

THE FIRST Angus Darts Academy knock-out competition took place on Sunday in the Cafe Project, Brothock Bridge. A total of 35 youngsters took part and demonstrated a very high standard of darts.

Results were:

Under-13s - Leon Gibson; runner-up, Ross Fraser.

13 to 15s - Matthew Russell; runner-up, Craig Johnston.

Over-15s - Mathew Tosh; runner-up Craig Cameron.

All winners were presented with a brand new Blade 4 dartboard from the Academy coaches.

Arbroath Masters

The qualifiers for the Arbroath Masters will be held in Coast Nightclub on Saturday, April 7. This will be a round robin event played in group stages to allow players to qualify for the Masters main event during the summer. Entry to the Q-School is free and open to any player.

Doors Open at 12 noon and toe the oche will be around 1.30 p.m. The draw will be carried out on the day.

British Inter-Counties

Angus are at home to Fife in the British Inter-Counties tomorrow (Saturday) at the Red Lion Holiday Park, Arbroath.

All players are reminded to be at the venue for 10 a.m. for team selection. Players are also asked to bring a raffle prize as all proceeds from the raffle this month are being donated to Angus Darts Academy.

Entry to spectators is by a £2 programme at the door on the day.

Full committee meeting

There will be a full committee meeting on Wednesday night at 7 p.m. in the Abbey Lounge

Football card

The second fund-raising football card and monies should be handed in to Alan Soutar on Monday night in the Station Bar between 8 and 10 p.m.

Registration

Summer League registration forms are now available to pick up from behind the bar in the Abbey. The proposed start date is Monday, June 4.
