Arbroath’s Jonny O’Mara failed to reach the Junior Wimbledon quarter-finals after falling to defeat against a fellow Brit.
Jonny went up against fellow countryman and friend Kyle Edmund, the fifth seed on Court 14 in a match which shown on the BBC’s red button service.
However, Jonny lost the first set 6-3 and the second 6-2.
But the local lad can be proud of his efforts after reaching the third round of the boy’s singles and knocking out the 11th seed in the second round.
Last year he left the competition in the first round.
But now he has two wins at the All England Club under his belt as yesterday (Tuesday) he overcame 11th seed Pedro Cachin of Argentina in straight sets, 7-6, 6-2.
And on Monday he recorded his first win at SW19 with a 7-6, 5-7, 9-7 win against France’s Maxime Janvier.
