Last weekend saw the culmination of the 2014/15 ADPL Season hosting the annual AJ Beedie Jewellers Arbroath Open on Saturday.

The eventual winner was Scott Dunbar from Perth.

Scott defeated one of the local players, Graham Dunbar, by five frames to two in the final.

Consolation Cup

Merchants were made to work hard to retain the title by a very strong Newgate (1) team and the match went all the way to the wire.

Merchants, however, managed to secure the final black and clinch the Cup.

Congratulations to Greg Alexander and his team.

Knockout Cup final

Shotz (1) were hoping to hold onto the title they won 12 months ago against the very same team they faced in this season’s final, Cliffburn (1).

After many tight frames Shotz got their noses ahead at 6-3.

The deficit was cut by one again before Shotz clinched the title and with that retaining and winning the 2014/15 League and Cup Double.

Congratulations to Shotz (1), Knockout Cup Champions 2014/15.

GM Properties (Tayside) Ltd ADPL Doubles

This year’s finalists were Ricky Robertson and Wayne Robertson who faced the tough task of trying to wrestle the title from defending champions Martin Cherry and Greg Alexander.

What an attempt Ricky and Wayne made though.

Martin and Greg won the decider to finish off their amazing comeback and round off a 5-4 win and retain their title.

GM Properties (Tayside) Ltd ADPL Singles final

Greg Alexander and David Jack had never met in the ADPL Singles Final until this year.

Both players were trying to adapt to the speed of the table, which caught both players out on a few occasions.

Notwithstanding, both players played some excellent shots throughout the final; with some great attacking pool on show from both.

Congratulations to David, who secured his fourth ADPL Singles title.

Charity Presentation to MacMillan Cancer Support

This year the ADPL presented a cheque for £500 to Macmillan Cancer Support.
