National call up for local athletes

ARBROATH and District Athletic Club members Callum Edwards and Louise Calder secured their third call up to represent Scotland in the Schools’ International Pentathlon between Scotland, England, Ireland and Wales which took place at the Kelvin Hall, Glasgow.

Results were:

Callum Edwards, 60mh – 9.04: long jump – 5.69: 200m – 25.88: shot putt – 11.35: 800m – 2.17.23:

Louise Calder, 60mh – 10.55: high jump – 1.53: shot putt – 7.95: long jump – 4.25: 800m – 2.54.78:

The second event within the Castle Cross-country took place at Haddo. All athletes preformed very well and under-15 competitor Ellen Robertson will go into the final Castle in second place following an excellent run that saw her two-mile time being reduced by 34 seconds.
