The Lintrathen Club Championship was fished last Saturday evening on a breezy Lintrathen Loch.

The winner was Ian Runcie of Brechin with four fish for 9lbs 10ozs. Runner-up was Graham McIntosh of Dundee with two for 4lbs 8ozs, followed by Steve Mannion of Butterstone with two for 4lbs 6ozs.

Over the past few days there has been some very good fishing on the loch with fish being taken mostly at the Sawmill end, but also a good few coming to the nets at Smart’s Bay and the Dam area. Anglers have been getting fish well down during the day but some nice catches have been taken in the evening when the fish are just under the surface.

The deep ones have been taken on DI3 lines with Cormorants, Yellow Dancers and Cat’s Whiskers. Under the surface success has been had with Boobies, Diawl Bachs and Kate McLarnens fished slowly.

Club results: Western AC, seven boats, six fish for 12lbs 14ozs; ABC&D Club, four boats, 27 for 54lbs.

Individual boats: Mr Horne and partner, five for 10lbs 3ozs; Jim Galloway and Tom Melville, eight for 14lbs; Danny Lennon and parners, eight for 21lbs 4oz (including one at 4lbs and one at 3 1/2lbs); Paul Dancer, four for 12lbs.
