Arbroath Lawn Tennis Club’s ladies’ first team were away for the second week in a row, travelling to Perth to play league leaders Kinnoull.

The Arbroath ladies were hoping to avenge a thumping defeat they had received from Kinnoull earlier in the season. The ever changing ladies’ line-up saw Jennifer Green paired with Ellen Watson, Rhianne Livingstone with Nina Ledlie and Jan Fairlie with Cara Pattullo.

The match was in doubt due to the poor weather conditions but eventually went ahead as scheduled.

In an amazing turnaround from the match earlier in the season, the Arbroath ladies won against all the odds. First pairing of Jennifer and Ellen won all of their sets whilst Rhiann and Nina four out of their five sets played. This was enough to give Arbroath victory by five points to 3.5. This brings Arbroath level on points at the top of the first division with Kinnoull remaining at the top by means of a superior set difference.
