Darts trophy winners pick up their awards

THE ANNUAL presentation night of Colin M. Smith Arbroath and District Men’s Darts League took place in the Red Lion Holiday Park on Saturday night.

Winners were as follows: Premier Division Champions -Fishermans (2); runners-up - Burns Bar (1): First Division Champions - Fishermans (1); runners-up - Ram’s Heid: Second Division Champions - Commercial (Letham); runners-up - Portcullis (2).

Knock-out Cup Champions - Fishermans (2); runners-up - Burns Bar (1): Consolation Cup Champions - Fishermans (1); runners-up - Legion (1).

Singles Champion - Bob Beattie; runner-up - Alan Soutar; Doubles Champions - John Barr and Mark Thomson; runners-up -Alan Soutar and Andy McEwan: Peem Pearson Champions - Alan Soutar, Bob Beattie, Ally Forsyth and Andy Spence; runners-up - Jamie McIntosh, Frank Green, Darren Simpson and Simon Lavery.

Stevie Dall Trophy Champion - Mark Farquharson; runner-up - Shane May: 180 Competition Champion - Clive Jones; runner-up - Bob Beattie: Captains Cup Champion - Michael Jones; runner-up - Colin Watt: Vice-Captains Cup Champion - Ian Christie; runner-up - Keith Lavery: Highest Checkout Award - Andy Spence, 170.

Angus Singles

Angus Darts Association will host a new singles competition for men and women on Saturday, June 25, at The Red Lion Holiday Park, Arbroath. Registration is until 11.30 a.m. Toe the oche at 12 noon. Entry is £3 on the day and all monies in will be paid out in prize money.

Only Angus affiliated players are entitled to enter so Arbroath and District Ladies’ Darts League members will not be permitted to play.


Total Darts Promotions will be hosting three nights of qualifiers for the chance to win a ticket and play Gary Anderson on the night of his Arbroath Exhibition on Saturday, August 6.

The first Q-School will be Knock-out Burma Road and will be played on Friday, June 17, in the Fishermans Inn, Arbroath. Entry is £3 on the night and players should register with Alan Soutar between 7 and 7.30 p.m. Men and women welcome.

Scottish Masters

The Angus Area qualifiers of the Scottish Masters will be played at the Red Lion Holiday Park, Arbroath tomorrow (Saturday).

Entry is £5 on the day and Angus will get eight men and four women through to the Scottish finals which will be played at Bannockburn on Saturday, June 18.
