The annual coaching week at Arbroath Lawn Tennis Club, completed on Saturday, proved to be one of the most successful ever.
All of the classes were very well subscribed and folks of all ages seemed to have good fun. As a result the courts have been very busy as those attending now try to put their new found skills to good use. There will now be some follow up coaching for both adults and juniors.
There will now be a weekly adult beginners class with club coach Rhiann Livingstone. This will take place on a Tuesday between 6 and 7.30 p.m. The cost for this class will be £4 for members and £6 for non-members.
Also, the final junior camp of the school holidays will take place from Tuesday (July 30) to Thursday (August 1) again with club coach Rhiann Livingstone.
Classes are: ages five to six, 9.45 to 10.30 a.m.; ages seven to eight, 10.30 to 11.30 a.m.; ages nine to 11, 11.30 a.m. to 12.30 p.m.; ages 12+, 12.30 to 1.30 p.m.
Cost is £10 for members £15 for non-members
The club is now offering membership fees at a reduced rate. Costs are as follows: adult £45; 13 to 18, OAP, student £30; under-13 £20; under-10 £20; parent £20; family £100. This is excellent value, particularly if attending coaching classes. It also allows free play at the club.
Members are reminded that this year’s annual tournament will take place between August 4 and 11. All of the usual events will take place for juniors and adults alike. Forms are available at the club or online. Entries need to be submitted by August 3.
