FISHERMANS (2) continued on their winning way on Monday night when they beat stablemates Fishermans (1) by a whitewash. Burns Barn (1), in second place in the Premier Division, demolished Station (2) and third placed Burns Bar (2) recorded a comfortable home victory over Ram’s Heid.

In the First Division, leaders Abbey had a fine away win over Millgate while second placed Cliffburn (1) went down in an away match against Commercial (L) who reduced the deficit to just two points.

In the Second Division, Leaders Bowlers (1) and second placed Cliffburn (2) shared the points in a hard-fought draw. Lorne made up ground with a fine victory over Bowlers (2).

Angus Super League

The Men’s Super League will start tonight (Friday). Arbroath A start off with a home match at the Fishermans against league newcomers Laurencekirk while the Arbroath B team are away to last year’s runners up Montrose.

Arbroath A players should be at the Fishermans for 7.30 p.m.

Angus Darts Academy

Due to the large turnout over the first three weeks of the Angus Darts Academy, the coaches have decided to split Thursday training nights into two sessions as of this week.

They are: under-15s from 6.30 to 7.45 p.m. and over-15s from 7.45 to 9.15 p.m.

The Academy is free and open to new members, both boys and girls, between 10 and 21 years of age.

Arbroath Masters

The qualifying matches for the Arbroath Masters will be held in Coast Nightclub on Saturday, April 7. This will be a round-robin event played in group stages to allow players to qualify for the Masters main event in the summer. Entry for the Q School is free and is open to any player.

Arbroath and district Ladies’ Darts League

BOWLERS’ tenure at the top of Arbroath and district Ladies’ Darts League Division One lasted only a week as former leaders Pageant (2) took back their place after a fine home win over Portcullis (1).

Bowlers could only draw away to Portcullis (2) so slip back into second spot, one point behind.

It is stick neck and neck at the top of Division Two, with joint leaders Lorne and Railway both winning against Tutties and Letham Hotel respectively.

Third placed Burns (1) recorded a comprehensive away victory over Millgate (2) to keep up their challenge.

There was no positional change at the top of Division Three, after leaders Ship won a hard-fought game against third-placed West Port Bar. Ram’s Heid (2) were defeated by Station but hold on to second place.
