In the Forfarshire competitions, Abbey’s triple team of Alan French, Colin Cargill and Tom McIntosh lost to Parkview. Successful were pairs Ian Smith and Neil Paton who won against Ardler, but in the singles Bob Tosh lost to Hillside.

In the Under-25s Abbey players drawn against each resulting in wins for Ben Wallace beating Peter Ney and Luke Waddilove who defeated Darrien Swankie. Also a winner was Declan Johnston against Parkview, but beaten were Connor Hunter losing to Letham and Stuart Farmer who lost to Brechin.

Friday night’s Angus League game had no nail-biting finsh for the Abbey support this week. Although the team didn’t play badly Carnoustie WE won comfortably with a 64-37 shot victory. Thankfully the previous weeks’ results achieved what the club was aiming for from the start and that was to stay in the First Division. With two games left Abbey are safe.

Saturday’s fixtures were at home against Bainfield from Edinburgh and away to Craigie resulting in wins for both home teams.
