Artisan players tops in Arbroath Open


SCRATCH winner in last Saturday’s Arbroath Gents’ Open golf competition played at Elliot was Arbroath Artisan Golf Club’s James Howe who returned 69 to tie, but won thanks to a better inward half. He received the Westburn Trophy.

In second place was M. Lawrie, Panmure, 69 (bl3), D. Buchanan, Glenbervie, was third with 69, and R. Coull, Edzell, was fourth with 70 (bih).

The handicap winner, and winner of the Dowrie Coronation Cup, was another Arbroath Artisan player, James Crabb, who carded a nett 62.

The player who achieved the longest drive on the 18th was S. Stewart, Esporta.
