Arbroath and District Pool League restarts on Tuesday with the following fixtures:
Division One - Cliffburn 1 v Burns Bar; Newgate 1 v Merchants; Portcullis 1 v Railway 2; Railway 1 v Letham 1; Ram’s Heid 1 v Shotz 1; Shotz 2 v Newgate 2; Portcullis 2, bye.
Division Two - Bowlers 1 v Cliffburn 2; Legion 1 v Westport 1; Letham 2 v Portcullis 3; Shotz 3 v Stag; Legion 2 v St Tams; Station v Fishermans; Bowlers 2, bye.
Usual 8 p.m. sign-in time. Home team captain to ‘phone or text the score to the match secretary upon completion of the match.
The Tayside Singles will be played on January 31 and it is Dundee’s turn to host this event.
The competition will be held at the Old Mill Snooker and Pool Club, Dundee. The sign-in time will be 11 a.m. with matches starting as best of five frames. The entry fee remains at £5 per player. The draw will be carried out in advance. The deadline for Arbroath entries is 7 p.m. on Tuesday, January 27. Any Arbroath players who wish to enter, please contact Michael Bastow to arrange payment.
Division Two Cup
The semi-finals of the Division Two Cup take place this week (Wednesday, January 14) and will be played at neutral venues. As a reminder, these matches are best of nine singles and four doubles. The draw is as follows: semi-final one (venue, Cliffburn) - Bowlers 2 v West Port 1; semi-final two (venue, Legion) - Shotz 3 v Letham 2.
Sign in is the usual time of 8 p.m. There is no ‘home’ team and both captains shall write down their first three singles and show the opposing captain simultaneously.
Upon completion of the first three singles the same process is followed until the ninth single is completed. Doubles, if required, shall be written one at a time.
