THREE members of Arbroath Footers Running Club completed the Loch Ness Marathon on Sunday.
Tina Fowler and Mary Towns, both taking part in their first marathon, finished together in four hours and 29 minutes. Mary was fund-raising for Macmillan Cancer Support in memory of her dad, Angus Cossans. So far she has exceeded her target and raised well over £1,000. Sandy Burgess ran a personal best in four hours and eight minutes.
The club recently held the Bill Powell 6.5 mile age-related race.
Times were follows: Steve Dear, 41.25; Ian Beattie, 41.50; Alan McDonald, 42.42; Chris Elliott, 47.37; Eddie Ferris, 49.16; Sandy Burgess, 49.34; Pamela Brandie, 50.40; Christine Bird, 53.50; and Lisa Lawrence, 54.18.
The winners were Pamela Brandie and Ian Beattie.
