No league pool will take place this week. In its place the qualifying round of the Charity 4-Man Team Event will take place. The draw was carried out after the Herald went to press, therefore players should refer to the pool website (www.arbroath.scottishpool.com) for the draw.
SPA Super 11s
Good luck to the Arbroath ‘A’ team which travels to Craig Tara, Ayr, to compete in this year’s SPA Super 11’s Premier Event.
The team comprises of Gordon Smith (c), Jonathan Cargill, Graham Dunbar, Steve Hallam, Steve Hamilton, Dave McFarlane, Roy Middleton, Gareth Ruxton, Stuart Smith, Tam Walkingshaw, Steve Webster and Davie Williams.
The 2013 Tayside Doubles was held at the Portcullis, Arbroath, on Saturday.
Arbroath pair Steve Hallam and Gareth Ruxton defeated Ryan Fleming and Gary McLeish in an enthralling final by five frames to four.
This adds a second title to Gareth and Steve’s achievements after their recent ADPL Scotch Doubles win. They will look to add the ADPL Doubles to that list in the coming weeks.
Thanks were extended to George and Lorraine Williams for once again being great hosts and making everyone feel welcome.
