Lakeside and World Masters

The Angus qualifier for the World Darts Championships that take place at Lakeside Country Club every January, will take place at The Red Lion Holiday Park, Arbroath, on Saturday, July 14. Entry is on the day and will cost £5 for men and women. Registration is from 11 to 11.30 a.m. and toe the oche at 12 noon.

The Winmau World Masters qualifier will be played on the same day directly after the Lakeside qualifiers. Entry is also on the day for £5.

Bruce Grant Memorial Pairs

The Bruce Grant Memorial Mixed Pairs competition will be played on Sunday, July 8, in Bowlers Bar, Arbroath. Players should register by 12.30 p.m. and toe the oche will be 1 p.m. Entry is on the day on will be £3 per player There will be a £500 prize pot for the main event and a first round losers’ competition.

If you don’t have a partner, come along and the organisers will try to pair you up on the day.

Angus Darts Academy

The time slots for the Angus Darts Academy, based at the CAFE Project, Arbroath, have now been extended.

Thursday night timings are as follows: under-13s, from 6 to 7 p.m.; under-15s, from 7 to 8 p.m.; over-15s, from 8 to 9:30 p.m.

New players are more than welcome to attend, ages from 10 to 21 years.

If any parents/dart players would like to become involved in assisting with coaching then please come down on a Thursday night at 6 p.m. More help is required with the Darts Academy due to its huge success. Over 50 youngsters a week are playing darts in Arbroath.
