ADAC men keep First Division promotion hopes alive

Arbroath and District Athletic Club members travelled to Grangemouth at the weekend for the third event in the Men’s Scottish Athletics League.

The ADAC team comprised senior men M. Downie, David Murray, R. White, G. Laskiewicz and D. Graham and under-20 athletes C. Edwards, Damien Murray and A. Stanley.

They kept their aim of being promoted to the First Division alive by producing some excellent performances. They finished the day in second place with only 11 points separating them from the first place spot with one competition to go.

Laskiewicz, 1.60: pole-vault – A string, D. Graham, 3.80; B string, M. Downie, 3.40: shot-putt – A string, M. Downie, 12.57; B string, G. Laskiewicz, 9.09: hammer – A string, Damien Murray, 27.57; B string, G. Laskiewicz, 23.84: javelin – A string, Damien Murray, 45.48; B string, G. Laskiewicz, 35.05: 4x100 relay – 49.38.

The fourth event within the Petrofac League will take place on Sunday at Caird Park. ADAC is hosting this event and parent helpers and donations for the tea tent would be appreciated.
