THE ANNUAL Maggie’s charity competition for the Mary Hampton Shield took place at Rescobie Loch over the weekend.
A total of 36 anglers took part in the popular fixture which is now in its third year. The winner of Saturday’s competition was Darren Blythe (Lour) with three fish for 11lbs 7oz. Sunday’s winner, Ian MacDonell (Lochgillphead) with four for 18lbs 15oz, took the shield. In second place overall was George Austin (Errol) with 4 for 18lbs. The biggest fish on Saturday was caught by Andy Millar (Banchory) with one at 6lbs 8oz and on Sunday one caught by Jim Moncur (Invergowrie) tipped the scales at 8lbs 8oz.
Over the two days, £1,140 was raised for the Maggie’s Centre.
