Mixed fortunes in national contest

IT WAS a mixed bag of results in the Scottish Amateur Cup on Sunday with Finavon advancing.

However, AFC Plough went out of the competition.

In the Forfar and District Sunday League, there were wins for Carnoustie All Stars and Millgate Bar.

League - Carnoustie All Stars 3, Letham Hotel 0; Millgate Bar 3, Kirrie Thistle SC 1.

Footers enjoy inter-club event

THE BEACON Runners hosted the Hartley Cup inter-club Relay at Burntisland on Sunday.

Arbroath Footers were represented by a team of ladies consisting of Gillian Sangster, Tina Fowler, Christine Bird, Pamela Brandie and Tracy Paterson.

Each runner had to run two non-consecutive laps. Each lap was 1.13 miles long and covered path, beach and grass. The ladies were fourth and thoroughly enjoyed the event.
