Kingennie Fishing

THE FISHING at Forbes of Kingennie has generally been good despite the weather.

Water clarity is high and the ponds are ice-free. Any ice which formed during the week was quickly broken up and any further ice formation will be dealt with as it arises.

Burnside Pool responded well to buzzers with Ian Barlow returning 13 fish. Top flies were versions of the Diawl Bach.

Three anglers on the Woodside (any legal method pond) caught seven fish for a total of 13lbs with powerbait again producing the best results.

The most popular pond last week was the Bankside where Keith Prior had four rainbows for 11lbs.

Kingennie was pleased to again host the Ferry Fly Dressers who enjoyed their day and made some excellent returns, including three fish for 9lbs 9ozs, three for 8.5lbs and three for 8lbs.

Next fly tying evening will take place on February 7 from 6 to 8 p.m. Call for further details on 01382 350777 or 350213.
