Weather woes sees Vics’ clash frozen out

Arbroath Vics were due to meet Luncarty in a North Division fixture at Ogilvy Park on Saturday, but were left idle when the match was postponed.

Sharp frost, which had descended on most of the country over the days preceding the match made the ground rock hard and a 9.15 a.m. inspection found it unplayable resulting in it being called off like all matches in the division.

Vics now have to wait until January 10 for their next match, a home fixture against Thornton Hibs, due to them having to sit out this Saturday as they are the odd club out in the 15 team league. There are a limited number of matches in the division over the festive season, but Vics opted to take a break during that period.
