Not only was Arbroath youngster Dayle Robertson happy to be part of the team that notched up their first win in 12 games.
He was also delighted to grab his first goal in senior football.
The 17-year-old has been a regular fixture in the under-19s side and in recent weeks has managed to get a place on the bench with the first team.
But little did he know he would be scoring the winning goal to end the Gayfield’s men bad run of form.
And he was pleased he managed to do that.
He told HeraldSport: “It is probably one of the best goals I’ve scored and it is my favourite.
“It was good to get it because it gives us a lift and helps get that unbeaten streak off our back.
“With no strikers, I was hoping to get on, and I just wanted to get on and try my best.
“It is a great feeling, it means a lot and to the fans as well.
With Paul Sheerin’s side now preparing for their trip to Ibrox tomorrow (Saturday) to face table toppers Rangers, the youngster is hoping he can be involved again this weekend.
He added: “It will a great experience going to Ibrox.
“I’d love a place in the team.
“Hopefully the goal has done it for me but I will train hard and just wait and see what happens.”
