Arbroath Vics completed their pre-season friendlies with a home match against Forfar Athletic Under-20s on Saturday, winning by three goals to one.

Vics opened the scoring in the 12th minute through DAVID McLEISH, which proved to be the only goal of the first half. Five minutes after the break, KANE HESTER doubled Vics’ advantage.

The Station Park side pulled a goal back in the 82nd minute when CAMERON CLARK found the net, but just before the end, Vics restored their two goal lead through a TRIALIST.

Manager Jake Ferrier has been busy during the close season assembling a squad and has made nine signings. The new faces are David Sturrock (Arbroath High School FPs), who has previous junior experience with ASC, Forfar West End and Dundee Violet, Alex Cargill (Arbroath Community Sports Club), Kane Hester (Hillside), Dale Riddell (Arbroath High School FPs), Jamie Thomson (Arbroath), Scott Donald (Brechin City), Liam Scott (Portcullis Amateurs), Josh Chalmers (Arbroath) and Kieran MacGregor (Ferry Athletic).

Players who have left to play with teams in the Premier Division are Grant Mowatt to Broughty Athletic, Abdourahman Njie to Dundee North End and Craig Stephen to Forfar West End. Lee Hutcheson and Andy Cowan have both returned to amateur football.

Tomorrow (Saturday), Vics are away to Luncarty in their second league game. Kick-off is at 2.30 p.m. and players should meet at Ogilvy Park at 12 noon.
