Vics lose out to weather

YET AGAIN Arbroath Vics’ league match at home to Blairgowrie failed to go ahead due to the weather.

After the snow of the previous two weeks had thwarted it from being played, it looked as if it would go ahead at the third attempt, but a sharp overnight frost put paid to that notion with match referee Willie Ferguson declaring the surface of Ogilvy Park too hard following an 11 a.m. inspection.

Indeed so severe was the frost in Tayside that only one match in the North Division went ahead, which saw league leaders Dundee North End extend their advantage at the top with a 3-0 win at home to Brechin Vics.

Tomorrow (Saturday), Vics are scheduled to meet Lochee Harp in a league fixture at Ogilvy Park with a slightly later kick-off time of 2 p.m.
