Vics back in action

Arbroath Vics began the first of their pre-season friendlies with a home match against amateur side Stonehaven Athletic on Saturday.

The first half ended goalless, but after the break, Vics scored four times without reply with goals from CRAIG WATSON, (72 minutes), MARC WALKER (75), GARRY WARREN (78) and GRANT MOWATT (85).

Vics were again in action on Monday evening with a match against Premier League side Broughty Athletic, which was changed from Whitton Park to Ogilvy Park. Vics got off to a good start when CRAIG WATSON gave them a 12th minute lead, which they almost extended soon after when a Broughty defender sliced a corner on to his own bar.

The teams went in level at the interval when GRAHAM ALLAN converted a 25th minute penalty. After the break, Broughty scored twice to record a 3-1 win with goals from SEAN KELLY in 65 minutes and HARRY NEAVE in 87 minutes.

Vics continue their pre-season preparations with another home match tomorrow (Saturday), when Super League side, Camelon from Falkirk check in at Ogilvy Park. Kick-off is at 2.30 p.m. On Tuesday night Vics take on Arbroath High School FPs in their fourth friendly. Kick-off on Tuesday is at 7 p.m.
