Arbroath Vics were left idle on Saturday when their league fixture away to Blairgowrie was postponed due to a frozen pitch.

An inspection of the Davie Park ground by referee Gavin Harris at 10.30 a.m. found the surface to be unplayable and the match was subsequently called off.

Vics did explore the possibility of arranging a last minute friendly at Ogilvy Park, but with the ground there also frosted over, the idea of a match was shelved around an hour later.

Tomorrow (Saturday), Vics will be hoping for better luck when they are at home to East Craigie in the league.

The match kicks off at 1.45 p.m.

Only two matches in the North Division got the go ahead on Saturday, but one of them was significant as Dundee North End went top of the league above Luncarty with a 7-0 win at home to Forfar Albion.

The only other match to beat the frost was in Fife where Thornton Hibs saw off Brechin Vics courtesy of a 4-0 scoreline.
