Arbroath won 2-1 in the closed-door friendly against Stirling Albion last night.
Manager Allan Moore laughed: “I don’t know where this notion of closed-door game came from. We were playing on astroturf, which is completely open!”
Despite not getting the chance to play on grass Arbroath beat their opponents after a nervous concession early in the second half.
They pulled it back levelling through a Johnny Lindsay header before Simon Murray scored after a fine mazy run in the box.
Bobby Linn tweeted acongratulatory message to his team mate following the match: “Congratulations Simon Murray on first Arbroath goal tonight!”
The game gave the gaffer an opportunity to watch a mixture of signed players and trialists before he makes any final squad decisions.
David Crawford featured in goals and was subsequently signed for the Club.
Arbroath will be at home for the second time during pre-season to face Brora Rangers tomorrow.
