STEVEN Doris bagged a hat-trick as Arbroath put Angus rivals Forfar Athletic to the sword last night (Wednesday).

And the Lichties’ sharp-shooter, who has 15 goals this season, hopes that winning the title will repay the fans.

“It is my third season here now and the fans seem to enjoy what the team has been doing and hopefully we can repay them for their support by winning another title.”

Meanwhile, gaffer Paul Sheerin says his side are ready to push Cowdenbeath all the way in the quest for title glory.

After midweek results, the Lichties are only two points behind the Fife side in second place as the race for the championship and a place in the First Division hots up.

He said: “Given the result on Tuesday when Cowdenbeath drew, it was vital we came to Gayfield and won and that is what we managed to do.

“It seems like we have been chasing them for a long time but we can certainly catch them.”
