Paul Sheerin is gearing up for his fourth season in the Lichties’ hot seat knowing this campaign will be like no other.

With the likes of Rangers and Dunfermline joining SPFL League One, it will certainly make for a highly competitive league.

And the boss said: “Having teams like that certainly makes it more glamorous.

“And with having eight derbies as well that also makes it more difficult.

“The atmosphere at the derbies always take care of themselves but it can be tough playing your local rivals on a regular basis.

“But we have to aim to be in amongst it at the top.”

Sheerin’s notable pre-season signigns have included Bobby Linn and Steven Milne who have boosted the Gayfield ranks.

And he added: “There have been a few changes for the season ahead.

“I think it is vital we keep up our good home form and really make Gayfield a tough place to come.”
