Arbroath’s Alan Soutar was part of the victorious Scottish four man team who scooped gold medals at the World Cup of Darts at the weekend.
The event was held in Newfoundland, Canada, and joining ‘Soots’ on the team were Gary Stone, Craig Baxter and captain Ross Montgomery.
They played Finland, Bahamas, South Africa, Sweden and then USA in the final.
The USA team had beaten England 9-2 in their semi-final match up but it was Scotland who were victorious in the final, winning 9-7.
Alan had a good week reaching the quarter-finals with Ross in the doubles and narrowly losing to England’s Stephen Bunting 5-4 in the quarter-finals of the singles.
Meanwhile young Arbroath darts player Rebecca Graham also attended the tournament, returning with a bronze medal in the youth mixed doubles.
Teamed with Bradley Weston, of Aberdeen they reached the semi-finals.
Rebecca is part of the Angus Darts Academy that is run in Arbroath by Alan.
