Arbroath manager Paul Sheerin has revealed defender Stuart Malcolm has rejected an offer made to him by the club.
The 33-year-old is set to sign for Angus rivals Forfar Athletic, although the boss has secured the services of David Banjo and Lee Sibanda, with more set to follow in the next week.
He told HeraldSport: “Malky knew he was going to be cover and he felt he would have a better chance if he went elsewhere.
“I haven’t signed any other players as yet, but I do have agreements with them so it’s just a case of them signing.
“We want to get back to the football we were playing so it’s no secret we are after forward thinking players.
“Also I just want to thank all the fans for their support over the season and apologise for falling just short.
“Hopefully they will get behind us again next season and we can get back in amongst it.”
