Goalkeeper Calum Brodie is the latest player to join Todd Lumsden’s Arbroath squad following the teenager’s release from Dundee.

The youngster signed terms earlier this week and is set to be offered a shot at first team football he craves.

Todd said Brodie will be a good addition to the side and has to grab his opportunity with both hands.

The gaffer said: “Calum’s got great potential. He just needs an opportunity to play first team football and that’s why he’s coming in. He just needs to grab the opportunity with both hands. He’s been in for us through pre-season and he’ll be a good addition.”

Lumsden added that he was glad to secure Andy Munro on a contract after trailing the young centre half for some time.

He continued: “We were trailing Andy since he was leaving Raith. I went to watch him in the Junior Cup final and he’s been training well with us so we decided to make a move for him.

“He’s looked good in training, he’ll be a good addition for us. He’s strong, fit, so we’ll see how he progresses through games. He adds a bit of competition.”

The club this week revealed that they will be extending the current under 16 season ticket up to under 18.

The newly named Ultra ticket costs £60 as it did before, with a Junior Ultra package on offer for under 12s.

Chairman John Christison said: “In recent seasons we have had incredible support from the young supporters in the town, in particular from the ‘Ultras’. Their enthusiasm has been great to see and we are delighted to be able to offer the young Arbroath supporters a discounted priced season ticket as a reward for their support.”

The Ultra ticket is als on offer to those over the age of 18 in full-time education at university on college; all that’s required is a matriculation card.

Both Ultra and Junior Ultra tickets will entitle the supporters to other benefits, including discounts on club merchandise and a Meet the Players session.

All season tickets can be bought from the club Monday to Friday between 9.30am and 1pm or on match days.

Arbroath were this week drawn to face League One side Dunfermline Athletic at home in the first round of the Petrofac Training Cup.

The match takes place at Gayfield on Saturday, July 25.
