A conversation back in 1976 sparked a long term dedication to Arbroath Football Club.

Lee Hill, Leicester, was serving in the 2nd Battalion Royal Anglian Regiment and was billeted in Arbroath during a training exercise with the Royal Marines.

Upon asking what there was to do in the town the local guys suggested an afternoon at Gayfield.

“I lost touch with the Lichties for a bit but in the mid 80s when computerisation improved and links became closer I managed to pick up my support of the team, more recently through Facebook, Twitter and the website.

“A local supporter, Sye Webster, recently sent me the car sticker and a flag. He’s a fantastic guy and it’s great to have someone who knows about the team keeping me in the loop.

“I am hoping to get up to Arbroath soon to see a home game.”
