Fixtures released for Lichties’ new season

ARBROATH will be kicking off their Second Division campaign with a visit from Albion Rovers at Gayfield on August 6 after the new season’s fixtures were released this morning (Friday).

The Lichties will be unveiling their championship flag on that day against the Coatbridge side who were also promoted from Division Three last season.

The first derby of the campaign will be at Glebe Park on September 24 against Brechin, who are now managed by ex boss Jim Weir.

Three weeks later, the Gayfield men will face their second Angus derby with an away trip to Forfar.

The first derby at Gayfield will not be until December 3 when Brechin City will visit.

Boxing Day (December 26) sees a home fixture against Stirling Albion while at New Year, the Lichties will have to make the long trip to Dumbarton on January 2.

The campaign will end on May 5, 2012 with an away match against East Fife.
